Summary: Lifeguard/Instructor position available at Eileen Dailly Leisure Pool & Fitness Centre, requiring lifeguarding duties, swim instruction, and customer service skills.

**Job Description:**

* Lifeguarding duties and high-quality swim instruction on assigned shifts
* Ensure safety of swimmers, provide a clean environment, and engage with diverse clients
* Educate on pool rules, perform minor maintenance tasks, and provide first aid treatment
* Lead instructional and recreational aquatic programs for all age ranges
* Provide information on swimmer progress and instructional evaluation techniques

**Qualifications:**

* Up to high school graduation, supplemented by courses in lifeguarding, lifesaving, aquatic instruction, fitness instruction, and pool maintenance
* Sound knowledge of lifeguarding, lifesaving, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and first aid
* Working knowledge of teaching methods, group leadership techniques, and pool operations
* Ability to display sound aquatic skills and instruct in these skills at standards set by relevant authorities
* Conduct and promote fitness programs, establish and maintain working relationships with officials, user groups, coworkers, and the public

**Required Certifications:**

* Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Pool award
* Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor award
* Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate – Level C
* BCRPA Basic Fitness Leader – Aquatics and Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) certificates desirable

**Schedule:**

* 44 hours bi-weekly (0.55 FTE)
* Monday & Wednesday from 4:30PM to 10:00PM
* Tuesday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM
* Thursday 6:00PM to 10:00PM
* Sunday 9:00AM to 1:00PM
