Description: Big White is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Retail Hardgoods Sales Associate for the winter season.

As a Retail Hardgoods Sales Associate, you will have exceptional sales skills, complimented by a friendly and cheerful disposition. Prior experience in the ski/snowboard industry is not essential but experience, passion and enthusiasm for sales are. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service through your product knowledge and your genuine interest in outfitting our guests with product that will ensure a great experience and memory of their time at Big White.

Duties include:
  • Customer service
  • Sales
  • Attending sessions to acquire and develop product knowledge
  • Assisting guests with selection and purchase of equipment that is appropriate for their needs and ability
  • Keeping the shops and storage areas clean and tidy
  • Cash-handling
  • Using Retail Pro software
Required qualifications/attributes:
  • Professional attitude
  • Good organizational skills
  • Previous experience in sales
  • Ability to use a variety of computer applications
  • Cash handling experience
  • Time management skills
  • Must be approachable, dependable and a strong team player
  • Must be able to deal with people of various ages with animation and with patience

Desirable (but non-essential) attributes:

  • Working knowledge of the facility, services and local area
  • Knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment
Location: Dizzy's Ski & Board Shop at Big White Ski Resort, BC, Canada Duration: Start dates commence from mid-October 2024. The winter season at Big White closes in mid-April Wages: Starting wage: $19.00. Wages will be determined according to prior experience and skill evaluation. We endeavor to provide between 32-40 hours work per week, however there may be times when you are required to work more or fewer hours than this. Candidate selection and interviews will begin in June
