About the Job

The Education Programs Coordinator plays a vital role in connecting people with park resources and local ecology by creating engaging experiences for park guests of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver informative and entertaining educational programs for organized groups and the public in person and virtually
  • Assist in the development and implementation of innovative new programs to meet the changing needs of the community
  • Maintain program equipment & supplies, existing and seasonal interpretative displays, signage, and brochures
  • Perform light cleaning duties and other related tasks as required
  • Work in accordance with Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
Qualifications
  • Background in education, ecology, environmental studies/sciences, Indigenous culture(s), or archaeology
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Experience in resource interpretation, teaching, or outdoor education
  • Proven commitment to providing superior customer service
  • French or other second language an asset
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
