Job Title: Supervisor Rail Testing

Company: Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC)

As a Supervisor Rail Testing at CPKC, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods across our 20,000-mile network. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to operate CPKC owned ultrasonic test equipment, providing accurate information on the results of daily testing to trigger rail replacements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain CPKC owned ultrasonic rail testing equipment on various segments of the assigned territory
  • Calibrate and ensure equipment is up to standards to perform quality inspections
  • Collaborate with Roadmasters to keep Rail Flaw Detection equipment on schedule and hit production targets
  • Take track protection and abide by all safety rules to ensure everyone's safety
  • Perform quality work to ensure the safe passage of trains in compliance with the SPC and Red Book
  • Work 2 weeks ON and 1 week OFF schedule (travel required to get to work and back home)

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Drivers License
  • Previous Railroad experience is an asset
  • Trained in Rail Flaw Ultrasonic testing is preferred but not required
  • Instrumentation and testing experience in other disciplines is an asset
  • High proficiency in using a computer and troubleshooting ability
  • Proficiency in using tools to make mechanical repairs to equipment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
