Environmental Scientist Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team in Calgary, Alberta, to coordinate and manage environmental projects.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Scientist with at least 2-5 years of experience in project coordination and management, contaminated site investigation and remediation, and technical report writing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and maintain project schedules and budgets, and make decisions on technical execution.
  • Provide technical support for contaminated site investigation and remediation programs.
  • Interpret findings and prepare technical reports.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring project requirements are communicated and health and safety protocols are adhered to.
  • Actively promote Health and Safety programs and culture.
  • Participate in proposal preparation and cost estimates.
  • Participate in short- and long-range planning.
  • Self-motivated, high energy, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage time and multiple projects.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Sciences with eligibility for professional designation.
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in project coordination and/or management, contaminated site investigation and remediation.
  • Experience in preparation and review of technical reports, and interpretation of provincial and federal environmental regulations.
  • Commitment to excellent health & safety practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven technical report writing skills.
