The role will optimize the performance, reliability, efficiency, and risk profile of existing and future renewable power generation assets across TransAlta's fleet in Canada, the United States, and Australia./ppThe Renewables Engineer will provide expert-level advice and technical leadership across operational and growth engineering teams. Key responsibilities include:/pulliProviding technical input and quality assurance guidance across the asset lifecycle./liliIdentifying, communicating, and recommending mitigation of enterprise risks related to engineering practices./liliCreating, implementing, managing, and auditing equipment engineering standards and specifications./liliImplementing or managing fleet-wide asset health and monitoring strategies./liliProviding expert technical input into equipment failure investigations and asset management processes./liliEstablishing and maintaining a network of peers to monitor industry practices./liliDischarging technical work proactively and autonomously./liliEngaging and collaborating with other TransAlta teams./liliManaging external engineering contracts and/or consultants./li/ulpThe ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in engineering and asset management of utility-scale renewables projects. Registration with APEGA (Alberta) as a Professional Engineer (PEng) is required.
