Offering a comprehensive range of maintenance and turnaround solutions including hydro blasting, hydro cutting, chemical cleaning, and more, USA DeBusk operates in multiple cities across North America and internationally.
Summary/Objective
Debusk Canada Services Group is looking for a skilled Vapor Blast Technician to join their team in Edmonton, Alberta. The role involves operating Vapor Blast equipment to clean and finish surfaces using pressurized water and abrasive blast media. The technician will handle various physical tasks related to equipment operation, project setup, chemical handling, and emergency response.
Responsibilities
- Travel to client sites and use the Vapor Blast unit for surface preparation.
- Set up equipment following safety guidelines and procedures.
- Adhere to safety policies including wearing protective gear.
- Work safely in industrial settings around heavy machinery.
- Install and repair equipment on tanks.
- Support project needs across service lines.
- Inspect equipment and work area before starting tasks.
Qualifications
- Preferably have experience in sandblasting.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Previous experience in refinery or petrochemical plants is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel and work remotely.
- Available for emergency calls on a 24/7 basis.
- Able to work in confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and at heights.
- Follow procedures and directions effectively.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and handle up to 50lb. hoses.
- Capable of continuous standing and walking.
- Ability to enter process equipment through manways.
- Able to climb, balance, bend, and kneel continuously.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and scaffolds at heights exceeding 10' ft.
- Perform physical tasks like crouching, pushing, squatting, and working above shoulder level.
