Job Description

Work as a Registered Practical Nurse providing nursing care for acute medical patients with GI and palliative focus.

Qualifications

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
  • Recent acute medical experience.
  • Advanced RPN and assessment skills including aseptic technique, N/G insertion, suctioning and airway maintenance.
  • Organized and with ability to work in a team environment.
  • Caring, compassionate, customer focused attitude towards patients and families.
  • Good team player with positive attitude.
  • Evidence of continued learning.
  • Must be physically able to do the job, which involves heavy lifting and intensive physical effort.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record.

The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

Additional Information

Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating 12 hour shifts ; Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)

Salary: $33.26 to $35.87 per hour
