Senior Investment Consultant

Deliver innovative and effective investment solutions to institutional clients, working in a hybrid role with flexibility to work virtually or from our Montreal office.

About the Role

As a Senior Investment Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering investment consulting material and advice to institutional clients. You will work closely with the Account Executive/lead Consultants to anticipate client issues, needs or concerns and proactively develop solutions to meet those needs.

  • Provide consulting support services and technical support on a range of advisory and OCIO Investment clients and accounts;
  • Review client accounts and relationships and recommend ways to improve the value Aon brings to the client;
  • Raise the profile of Aon;
  • Contribute to the development of the go to market strategy for the Investment Consulting Practice;
  • Assist in preparing and giving effective presentations to clients or prospects;
  • Identify gaps between client needs and existing Aon Investment Consulting services;
  • Work with other professional advisers on institutional investment funds across Canada;
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and support to junior Investment Consulting colleagues;
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver investment consulting material and advice to institutional clients;

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in financial/investment consulting environment;
  • Thorough understanding of institutional investment and investment industry insight and processes;
  • Understanding of investment concepts and the financial markets;
  • Knowledge of the Canadian pension fund market;
  • Proven client relationship management skills;
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor;
  • Demonstrate strong client-facing skills;
  • Manage an extensive portfolio of diverse Institutional clients;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical decision-making, and developing solutions for clients/business issues;
  • Entrepreneurial and creative spirit;
  • Detail and results-orientated;
  • Technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current concerning investment industry trends;
  • Persuasive, forward-thinking, progressive, energetic, and focused;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office suite of business applications;
  • Some travel is required to service clients;
  • A teammate who can work with various types of individuals;
  • Collaboration within a matrix environment;
  • A desire to contribute to the success of Aon;
Education
  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Finance, Actuarial Science or Commerce or a related field, or equivalent years of experience;
  • Commitment to professional development;
  • Completion of an MBA or CFA is preferred;
