Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Modeling Expert to join our team at Reinsurance Group of America (RGA). As a key member of our Corporate Pricing department, you will be responsible for developing and leading the pricing support team, promoting the Actuarial Modeling function as RGA's Center of Excellence for pricing support, and ensuring compliance with RGA's pricing and modeling standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pricing Support Team Leadership
    • Develop and lead the pricing support team to provide expert advice to Regional and Local Pricing Actuaries on standards and best practices.
    • Develop and implement modeling standards and best practices to ensure competent execution of quotation processes.
  • Business Owner of AXIS Modeling Software
    • Steward the Pricing Software Strategy, including updates and execution.
    • Represent business requirements in contract negotiations with Moody's Analytics.
    • Set priorities for new features in consultation with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Pricing Audit Process Management
    • Manage the pricing audit process with Global Audit Services to ensure accurate reflection and quantification of pricing risks.
    • Supervise the Director, Actuarial Modeling, who will act as the AXIS SME for Global Audit Services.
  • Process Development and Documentation
    • Develop and document new processes as requested by the GRS Management Team.
  • Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, or related field.
    • Fellowship, Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent designation/experience.
    • 10 years of experience in life and/or health and/or annuity insurance and/or reinsurance.
    • 5+ years of experience in life and/or health and/or annuity pricing.
    • 5+ years of experience with at least six modules of AXIS, EnterpriseLink, and GridLink.
    • Experience with key financial reporting and accounting frameworks (particularly, U.S. GAAP).
    • Experience with economic and other capital models (RBC, LICAT, Solvency II, rating agencies such as S&P, etc.).
    • 5 years of experience with software training.
    Requirements and Qualifications
    • Excellent knowledge of AXIS.
    • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of actuarial systems, including MS Office, databases, and actuarial projection tools.
    • Expert understanding of design, risks, and critical assumptions relating to a broad array of life, annuity, and other products.
    • Expert ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously.
    • Expert project management skills.
    • Expert technical skills with software such as spreadsheet, actuarial, and database applications.
    • Expert actuarial technical skills and ability to detect and explain sources of variation from expectations in terms of key drivers.
    • Expert ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted modeling solutions.
    • Expert level of skills in customer relationship management and change management.
    • Expert ability to liaise across a wide variety of geographies and cultures.
    • Superior oral and written communication skills.
    • Expert level of investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong people management skills.
    • Ability to manage and influence associates who are difficult or resistant to leadership or change.
    • Expert ability to make timely and effective decisions.
    • Expert persuasion and negotiation skills to resolve issues/problems.
    • Expertise in implementing change, ensuring understanding, participation, accountability, and ownership.
    • Ability to travel internationally on an occasional basis.
