As an Operational Excellence Business Advisor in our Claims Optimization team, you will drive process improvement and customer service delivery. You will lead or participate in projects, optimize claims business models, and collaborate with stakeholders to map current and future states. You will also advocate change, utilize change management and project management techniques, and effectively communicate complex concepts to various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively leading or participating in process improvement projects, from ideation to implementation and control of solutions.
  • Optimizing claims business models and processes to improve operational efficiency and customer service delivery.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to map current state and define future state using a process improvement framework.
  • Advocating change in the business to satisfy strategic objectives and enhance employee and customer experience.
  • Utilizing change management and project management techniques to lead or assist in the implementation of sustainable changes.
  • Collecting, researching, and organizing data to answer business questions, performing statistical analyses, and compiling results.
  • Conducting or supporting cost-benefit analysis activities and proposing creative business solutions.
  • Effectively transforming and communicating complex concepts, both orally and written, to various stakeholder groups.
  • Supporting the development of documentation related to process improvement initiatives.
  • Training or supporting others in adopting a continuous improvement mindset and utilizing a process improvement framework.

Requirements include:

  • 1-5+ years of experience as an advisor, analyst, or similar role.
  • STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) preferred.
  • Previous work experience in the insurance industry, particularly in the Claims department, considered an asset.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferred, or a combination of applied experience/education.
  • Applied project management and change management experience.
  • Beginner to Advanced level experience with Microsoft Office and data visualization tools (Power BI, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Process mapping skills, including value stream mapping, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data and concepts to usable information for various stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills to various levels of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset, is curious, and has a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Problem-solving and persuasion skills to overcome resistance to change.
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and can provide and receive constructive feedback.
