Data Analyst Needed for Insurance Company's Digital Transformation

At Allstate Canada Group, we're undergoing a significant transformation of our data environment with the implementation of new systems. We're seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team and provide technical expertise to acquire, investigate, manipulate, and analyze data to support our business plans and results.

**Job Description**

We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Data Analyst to join our team. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for:

• Interpreting data from various source systems and understanding how it translates into our backend database
• Building strong relationships with Claims, Policy, and Finance teams to enable their needs in operational reporting, analytics, and predictive modeling
• Designing and providing requirements for new or improved analytics and reporting
• Monitoring and ensuring data quality of curated data sets using proper reconciliation methods
• Developing and improving SAS/SQL programs to perform complex analysis
• Analyzing change requests in source systems or projects and assessing their impact on existing data layers
• Collaborating with DBAs, other IT teams, and Architecture as required
• Implementing internal data process improvements, such as automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery

**Requirements**

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Stats, Finance, or similar field
• 1-3 years' experience in analytics or similar fields
• Strong business acumen and ability to articulate ideas in both technical and business-friendly language
• Proactive, curious, and comfortable working with new data models
• Experience with analytics platforms and methodologies, including data lake, data warehouse, data marts, ETL, data modeling, data governance, etc.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, VBA, and PowerPoint
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills

**Preferred Qualifications**

• Strong knowledge of Tableau and/or other visual analytics tools
• Experience with insurance/actuarial data
