Environmental Consultant

Partner Staffing is a leading recruitment agency specializing in the Oil & Gas sector, Engineering/Procurement/Construction, and Utilities industries. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our client's Reclamation and Remediation Team and Operational Compliance Team in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta.

Description:

  • Develop and implement reclamation and remediation plans for abandoned upstream oil and gas sites.
  • Oversee the completion of assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects.
  • Coordinate and supervise heavy equipment and third-party contractors as required.
  • Assist with budget oversight, project status tracking, and recommendations for regulatory closure.
  • Coordinate Environmental Site Assessments, vegetation assessments, groundwater monitoring programs, and reclamation assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Resource Group to develop site-specific remediation guidelines.
  • Develop relationships with landowners, client operations, government regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Work with interdisciplinary groups to execute client projects successfully.
  • Compile technical documents and reports, including DSA RoO's, reclamation inspection reports, and remediation reports.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of consulting experience related to remediation, reclamation, or environmental science.
  • Knowledgeable and capable of completing various field assessments in Alberta and British Columbia.
  • Good understanding of upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in British Columbia and Alberta.
  • Knowledge and experience working with various types of farming and heavy equipment.
  • Vegetation and weed identification skills in both forested and cultivated landscapes.
  • Willingness to travel and work in the field as required.
  • Technical Diploma or University Degree in environmental science or related discipline preferred.
  • Registration or eligibility to obtain designation with a recognized professional organization.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database entry.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work within a team environment.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
