About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Assistant Senior to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our dental clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily supervision to dental assistants, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the department.
  • Coordinate schedules for dental professional staff, prioritizing patient appointments and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Ensure patient charts are complete and up-to-date, maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Screen patients and assess their dental needs, scheduling appointments accordingly.
  • Perform chair-side duties, maintain infection control, and assist with OR procedures.
  • Maintain departmental statistics and monthly reports, providing valuable insights for budget purposes.
  • Utilize computer software to manage files, supply lists, and the denture waiting list.
  • Collaborate with medical/dental staff to design and implement clinical studies, recruiting patients as needed.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 graduation.
  • Completion of a recognized Certified Dental Assistant program.
  • Current registration with the College of Dental Surgeons of BC.
  • Two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work well with patients and staff.
