Self-Checkout Attendant Job Description

Assist customers in processing transactions through self-service areas, provide exceptional customer service, and maintain a clean and organized environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Keep the self-service area clean and free of debris, fixtures, and liquids.
  • Educate customers on the correct use of self-service options.
  • Promote company sponsor programs, such as credit card services and charity initiatives.
  • Observe customer activities to determine when assistance is needed.
  • Explain self-service interventions and quality checks to customers.
  • Respond to EAS alarms and fill out the "Failure to Deactivate" Log.
  • Notify the Customer Service Manager of low cash or technical issues.
  • Return Scan & Go scanners to their home after use.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of self-service technology.

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service role.
