The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.

They will provide a full range of support and assistance to Quality Assurance Department which includes but not limited to Research and Development, inspections, documentation and effective coordination with the QA Manager or other Department Supervisors/Personnel as required.Day to DayConduct wheat and flour testing and analysis to ensure that raw material and finished goods quality and safety are within the predetermined product specifications.Check and verify the results of the in-process testing done by Process Operators.Monitor the quality of the product on a regular basis; troubleshooting and applying corrective actions when required.Maintain all laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration. Complete and issue customers' documents such as Certificate of Analysis, Product Specifications, and other inquiries.Prepare and submit monthly and periodic sample checks for external lab/3rd Party testing. Conduct control sample analysis and maintain documentation. Maintain documents and records in accordance with P&H policies and procedures.Report and communicate with QA Manager and Department Supervisors/Operators on matters regarding the results of quality testing and analysis.Assist in the maintenance of Quality program and manual which includes but not limited to periodic review and inspections, documents updating, filing and organizing, corrective and preventive action report, etc. Participate in Good Manufacturing Practice/Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, British Retail Consortium and overall Food Safety programs.Maintain the Supplier Approval program.Assist with 3rd Party audits.Participate in Research and Development activities and maintain pertinent documentation.Keep the laboratory clean and organized through appropriate housekeeping.Coordinate activities with Production and Office Staff in completing analysis and documents.Participate and assist with traceability, mock recalls exercise, audits, customer complaints and inquiries, etc.Perform/Complete other tasks as assigned by QA Manager in the scope of Operations and QA Department.Required QualificationsA degree or diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related fields or equivalent training and experience.Basic knowledge of CFIA, SFCR and GFSI requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Able to work with minimum supervision.Excellent teamwork, organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.Attention to details. Punctual and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Fast learner and willing to learn new skills and participate in trainings as required.Able to stand long hours, walk and climb stairs. Able to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) when required.
