Job Summary: The City of Burnaby seeks an HR professional to manage HR systems, data, and processes, providing expertise and guidance to a team of HRIS Analysts and clerical staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage HR systems, data, and processes, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulations
  • Provide specialized expertise, advice, and recommendations to the leadership team and Union representatives
  • Supervise and mentor a team of HRIS Analysts and clerical staff, assigning, training, and reviewing their work
  • Interpret and administer policies, collective agreements, and procedures related to records and benefits
  • Perform quality control, ensuring consistent and appropriate application of policies, processes, and procedures
  • Lead and participate in HR and benefit systems projects, maintaining automated systems and data
Requirements:
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field, with 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of integrated HR/PAY systems, preferably SAP, including organization management, personnel and collective agreement administration, benefits and business intelligence reporting
  • Strong technical aptitude and advanced skills in office computer applications and HR/Pay systems
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
