Job Description

This is a temporary part-time position available for 1 year in the Rheumatology Research Program at Toronto Western Hospital. As a Clinical Research Study Assistant, you will work collaboratively with international collaborators, researchers, and healthcare professionals to support the conduct of clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with international collaborators and organize meetings to advance research objectives
  • Create and update data collection templates using Excel to ensure accurate and efficient data management
  • Conduct literature searches and abstract data from literature to inform research decisions
  • Identify and screen potential study participants, obtain informed consent, and conduct pre-testing and data collection
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate all aspects of data collection and source documentation
  • Execute study-related administrative tasks, including regulatory document collection and ethics submissions
  • Conduct telephone and/or clinical recruitment interviews to collect basic data using established criteria
  • Coordinate patient visits and manage local databases
  • Liaise with sponsors for monitoring and audits
Requirements:
  • Minimum Community College diploma in a health-related discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months of related experience
  • Prior research or clinical experience with study participants or patients with spinal cord injury or disease is an asset
  • Planning and project management skills are preferred
  • Knowledge of research regulations and guidelines, including ICH/GCP, Tri-Council Policy, etc.
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with a team and independently
