Registered Psychiatric Nurse/ Registered Nurse

Registered Psychiatric Nurse/RN required to provide professional nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs in a mental health setting.
Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent nursing services, administering interventions and treatments, and facilitating coordination of patient care and discharge. They will also demonstrate a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs
- Administer interventions and treatments as prescribed by a physician
- Facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide patient-centered care
- Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program
- Active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training
- Knowledge of College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses/Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Psychiatric/Registered Nurses
- Knowledge of College of Registered Psychiatric/Registered Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Registered Psychiatric/Registered Nurses
- Knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients
- Ability to delegate care appropriately and monitor outcomes of delegated care
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required
