Join our team as a Nursing Unit Clerk in the Intensive Care, NICU Unit at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre in Vancouver, BC.
Job SummaryAs a Nursing Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining patient charts, recording vital signs and lab results, and performing receptionist duties.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and maintain patient charts, record vital signs and lab results, and attach documents as directed
- Communicate with Program staff regarding illness and absence, and coordinate relief staff as needed
- Perform receptionist duties, including receiving patients and visitors, and answering queries
- Perform clerical duties, such as typing, answering the telephone, and requisitioning supplies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program
- One year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to keyboard 40 w.p.m
- Ability to organize work and utilize a variety of computer software applications
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada
