The Training System Integrated Solution Leader (ISL) is part of a small team of senior training development experts responsible to design complete end-to-end solutions for training systems used by defense forces and para-military organizations around the world, leveraging CAE's core simulation technologies along with best-in-class teaching methodologies and tools. The targeted end-user base include the air, naval and land forces domains.

In close collaboration with CAE's worldwide network of domain experts and industry partners, the ISL leads the definition of training solutions at the very early stages of customer needs definition, helping to shape and influence requirements for complete training programs that can include individual, team and collective training.

The ISL is responsible to ensure that the comprehensive integrated training solution delivers state-of-the-art and cost-effective training that is optimized to meet customer requirements throughout the entire life cycle of the training program. These solutions integrate the full-spectrum of the training continuum, from academic and simulation-based synthetic training up to a full live-virtual-constructive (LVC) environment that can support complex immersive mission rehearsal scenarios.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the definition of fully integrated Training Solutions from the early stages of customer interactions (pre-RFP), through the Capture and Proposal phases, all the way to contract award
  • Act as the main focal point and Design Authority on training solutions for all internal and external stakeholders, including customers and the end-user community
  • Participate in training product R&D road map definitions to outline strategies to meet today's and future customers training needs through best-in-class learning methodologies and tools, while reducing training development and delivery costs.
  • Provide leadership to the Capture Teams on large training system integration (TSI) opportunities to develop various aspects of the proposed solution, including;
  • Direct initial Training Task, Training Needs and Training Media Analysis and Training Curriculum Design in partnership with the technical leads, learning specialists, domain experts (SMEs) and customer authorities
  • Leverage CAE technologies, standard products and sub-contractor capabilities in the design of a cohesive and optimal integrated training solution
  • Leverage modern tools and multi-disciplinary teams to perform Training Solution design within the applicable training development processes
  • Work with System Architects to ensure training requirements are well defined and are clearly derived into engineering and courseware requirements, with their associated objective verification and validation criteria
  • In collaboration with Program Management, define a winning execution strategy for major opportunities including make-buy analysis, strategic partner selection and workshare definition, considering any in-country/offset requirements
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive Solution Reviews to all stakeholders to clearly communicate the winning strategies and end-to-end technical, programmatic and commercial solutions
  • Facilitate, consolidate and validate the cost estimating and risk analysis from the different stakeholders.
  • Identify potential execution and deliverable issues, concerns and risks associated to the overall training solution design, deployment and delivery phases
  • Interface with customers and end-users to present and review training solutions, primarily during the pre-contract award business capture phases
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience in industry and/or military service, with 10 years focused on the development and/or delivery of training programs in an operational and/or maintenance capacity for the defense sector
  • Canadian Forces experience highly desirable
  • Relevant experience leading large training development, training integration or engineering projects
  • Knowledgeable of training development processes
  • Science of learning, adult learning, e-learning, etc.
  • System Approach to Training (SAT & DSAT) and Instructional Systems Design
  • Excellent oral & written communication and presentation skills
  • Good ability to develop capture strategies and proposal storyboards, leveraging winning themes and discriminators
  • Good business acumen and political savvy
  • Knowledge of systems engineering development processes
  • Experience in large project management is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of CAE's training solutions approach and of CAE's modeling and simulation systems is considered an asset
  • Availability to travel internationally up to 5% of the time
  • Must be able to obtain and retain Canadian and NATO Secret Security Clearances

En étroite collaboration avec le réseau mondial d'experts du domaine et de partenaires industriels de CAE, le CSI dirige la définition des solutions de formation dès les toutes premières étapes de l'analyse des besoins du client, en aidant à façonner et à influencer les exigences des programmes de formation complets qui peuvent inclure la formation individuelle, collective et en équipe.

Le CSI veille à ce que la solution de formation intégrée complète fournisse une formation de pointe rentable qui soit optimisée pour répondre aux besoins des clients tout au long du cycle de vie du programme de formation. Ces solutions intègrent le spectre entier du continuum de la formation, de la formation théorique et de la formation synthétique fondée sur la simulation à l'environnement complet de formation réelle, virtuelle et constructive pouvant prendre en charge des scénarios complexes de répétition de missions immersives.

Responsabilités du poste
  • Diriger la définition de solutions de formation entièrement intégrées, depuis les premières étapes d'interactions avec les clients (avant l'appel d'offres), en passant par les phases d'acquisition et de proposition, jusqu'à l'attribution du contrat.
  • Agir en tant que principal point de contact et d'autorité de conception en matière de solutions de formation pour toutes les parties prenantes internes et externes, y compris les clients et la communauté des utilisateurs finaux.
  • Participer à la définition des feuilles de route de R-D des produits de formation afin de définir des stratégies pour répondre aux besoins de formation des clients actuels et futurs grâce aux meilleurs outils et méthodes d'apprentissage, tout en réduisant les coûts d'élaboration et de prestation de la formation.
  • Assurer le leadership des équipes d'acquisition sur les occasions majeures d'intégration de systèmes de formation pour élaborer divers aspects de la solution proposée, notamment :
  • Superviser les tâches de formation initiales, l'analyse des besoins de formation et des médias de formation ainsi que la conception du programme de formation en partenariat avec les responsables techniques, les spécialistes de l'apprentissage, les experts du domaine (PME) et les autorités du client.
  • Exploiter les technologies de CAE, les produits standard et les capacités des sous-traitants dans la conception d'une solution de formation intégrée cohérente et optimale.
  • Miser sur des outils modernes et des équipes multidisciplinaires pour concevoir des solutions de formation dans le cadre des processus applicables d'élaboration de formation.
  • Collaborer avec les architectes de système pour s'assurer que les exigences de formation sont correctement définies et clairement dérivées en exigences en matière d'ingénierie et de didacticiels, avec les critères objectifs de vérification et de validation qui y sont associés.
  • En collaboration avec la direction de programmes, définir une stratégie d'exécution gagnante pour les principales opportunités, y compris l'analyse des achats, la sélection des partenaires stratégiques et la définition du partage des tâches, en tenant compte des exigences éventuelles du pays ou des compensations.
  • Préparer et présenter des examens complets des solutions à toutes les parties prenantes afin de communiquer clairement les stratégies gagnantes et les solutions techniques, programmatiques et commerciales de bout en bout.
  • Faciliter, consolider et valider l'estimation des coûts et l'analyse des risques des différentes parties prenantes.
  • Cerner les problèmes, les préoccupations et les risques potentiels liés à l'exécution et au produit livrable quant à la prestation de la solution globale de formation lors des phases de conception, de déploiement et de prestation.
  • Interagir avec les clients et les utilisateurs finaux pour présenter et examiner les solutions de formation, principalement pendant les phases d'acquisition préalables à l'attribution du contrat
Qualifications
  • Minimum de 15 ans d'expérience connexe dans l'industrie et/ou dans les services militaires, dont 10 ans dans l'élaboration ou la prestation de programmes de formation dans une capacité opérationnelle ou de maintenance pour le secteur de la défense.
  • Connaissance des processus d'élaboration de la formation.
  • Science de l'apprentissage, formation des adultes, apprentissage en ligne, etc.
  • Approche systémique de la formation (SAT et DSAT) et conception de systèmes didactiques.
  • Excellentes aptitudes pour la communication (tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit) et la présentation.
  • Bonne capacité à élaborer des stratégies d'acquisition et des scénarios de propositions, en tirant parti des thèmes et des facteurs distinctifs gagnants.
  • Bon sens des affaires et bonnes connaissances sur le plan politique.
  • Connaissance des processus de développement de l'ingénierie des systèmes.
  • Disponibilité à voyager à l'international jusqu'à 20 % du temps.
  • Une expérience dans la gestion de projets d'envergure est considérée comme un atout.
  • La connaissance des solutions de formation de CAE ainsi que des systèmes de modélisation et de simulation de CAE est considérée comme un atout.
