Job Description
Pre-Con's Brampton Engineering Department is seeking a BIM Modeler & Drafter Co-op Student with a desire to continue learning on the job. We are looking for students who are interested in a fall co-op term starting in September 2024. Duration can be 4, 8 or 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Analyse incoming orders and appropriate customer drawings and specifications
- Prepare general layout and detail drawings using 3D Tekla Software & AutoCAD
- Do quantity take off and prepare bill of material for orders
- Ensure manufacturing shop drawings provide clear and accurate details for fabrication
- Check work of other modelers for accuracy
- Answer questions about drawings from other departments
Requirements
- Post-Secondary education in Civil, Architectural, Structural or Mechanical Technology is preferred.
- Proficient with 3D BIM software and AutoCAD
- Skilled at reading construction drawings
- Ability to work at a steady pace to promote accuracy and quality of work with few errors
- Ability to assume responsibility, communicate effectively with others and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
- Motivated to learn extensive precast product knowledge on the job
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam
