About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Health Promoter to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Healthy Communities Team to develop and implement policies and programs that promote improved population health and reduce health inequities.

The Health Promoter will work with community partners to take action and advocate for policy and system change to create supportive social, economic, and physical environments that protect and promote health. This role requires a strong understanding of health promotion and community development theory and practice, as well as the ability to apply comprehensive, evidence-informed strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in health promotion or a related field, plus 3-5 years of community-based or public health experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree in public health or health promotion, with 1-2 years of experience, may be considered. The successful candidate will also have recent experience in advocating for healthy public policies, initiating and establishing partnerships, and gathering and analyzing information to identify public health issues.

Hours
  • Permanent Full Time/ 100% FTE/ 70 Hours Bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits

$45.61 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
