Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) is a leading organization dedicated to championing childhood cancer care in Ontario. We're seeking an experienced and passionate Manager, Events and Conferences to lead our diverse and dynamic annual event portfolio.

About the Role
  • Lead the logistics and execution of POGO's marquee fundraising event, the POGO PJ Party, managing vendor relations, on-site event management, and more.
  • Manage the logistics and execution of our annual clinical education Symposium and other key events, including securing top speakers, accreditation, and on-site experience.
  • Oversee the development, delivery, and evaluation of year-round POGO virtual and in-person educational events and webinars in collaboration with the Clinical Program teams.
  • Handle all logistical aspects of event management, including venue selection, vendor negotiations, online registration, and more.
  • Recruit, schedule, and oversee event staff and volunteers to ensure exceptional experiences.
  • Plan and execute stewardship and community events for POGO donors and partners, working closely with our Development Team.
  • Collaborate with our Communications team to ensure the POGO brand shines across all events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for POGO team-based events, leading logistics for internal social committee activities, media events, and more.
  • Establish success metrics for events and gather feedback to continuously improve future initiatives.
  • Research and implement industry trends and best practices to recommend opportunities for growth and expansion of POGO's mission.
Qualifications
  • A degree or diploma in Event Management, Event Planning, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of event management experience, with a strong background in large-scale conferences and fundraising events (250+ attendees).
  • Experience in healthcare education is a bonus.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts.
  • Proficiency with virtual and hybrid event technologies.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with a variety of stakeholders, including partners and volunteers.
  • A creative, resourceful approach with a knack for problem-solving on the fly.
  • High energy and enthusiasm, with the flexibility to manage evening and weekend events.
