Research Assistant 12 month term position \r
This is an opportunity to be a part of our Canola Trait Integration team in Winnipeg, Canada. In this role, you will play a vital part in our research efforts focused on canola research and improvement. \r
Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment. This is a 12-month term position, based out of the Winnipeg, MB lab. \r

What you will do:
\r

\tManage day-to-day organization and maintenance of growth room projects, including seeding, transplanting, pollination, and harvesting \tMaintain plant care, disease, and insect control in growth rooms \tConduct detailed record-keeping, molecular marker tissue sampling, chemical spraying, and other technical tasks \tEnsure workplace tidiness and orderliness \tTrain temporary employees as needed \tCollaborate closely with research staff to implement process improvements \tParticipate in document creation and process reviews related to job activities \tUphold Quality Management System (QMS) and safety standards \tAssist in other projects and perform additional duties as required \r

Who you are:

\tDegree or diploma in agricultural/biological science or a related field, or equivalent \tProficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, TEAMS and Sharepoint \tExcellent written and verbal English communication skills \tAbility to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team \tHighly motivated with a results-oriented approach and the ability to work both independently and in teams \tStrong attention to detail and organizational skills for prioritizing daily tasks \tFlexibility and willingness to learn new procedures \tA Manitoba Pesticide Applicator License is an asset \r
