We currently have Estimating Coordinator co-op opportunities for talented and creative students to be part of our team and share our values and passion. This is a 12 month co-op term from September August 2025 at our Hamilton office.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and proactively maintain Modern Niagara's Estimating inbox and calendar within Outlook
- Participate in Estimating Team Meetings and Huddles, taking notes of action items when necessary
- Create (and attend when necessary) Estimating Bid Review meetings, Turnover meetings, etc.
- Liaise and maintain up-to-date communication with external stakeholders including suppliers, vendors, sub-trades, clients, etc.
- Manage Estimating documentation folders on Procore, ensure documentation such as drawings, RFIs, etc. are updated regularly
- Collect info and create proposals for new bids, collaborating with Executive Assistant on content and proofing
- Update Modern Niagara's internal Database and Dashboard for executive management reporting
- Perform additional related duties as required under the direction and guidance of the hiring manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards a University degree or College diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or applicable education
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills with hands-on working knowledge of MS 365, particularly Excel
- Team player, energetic, resourceful, reliable and timely
- Eager to work and learn in a fast-paced industry
- Comfortable working in an office setting
Desirable:
- Related work experience is an asset, including from other co-op placements, internships, projects
- Experience in the construction industry a strong asset
- Understanding of mechanical building systems (plumbing and HVAC) is an asset
