Our client, an OEM Manufacturer and Supplier of custom industrial control panel and electrical components such as MCC wrapper/buckets, panel switches, circuit breakers, bus plugs, distribution panel boards, and so much more. They are currently looking to hire a Warehouse/Production Manager on a Permanent Full-Time Basis.


In this role you will focus on the team involved in Assembly Operations working to further develop the team and the processes within the business. You will be responsible for managing the Assembly team but will also coordinate the production activities and priorities of the team members from other Manufacturing teams in the shift (Receiving, Testing, Shipping etc.). The ideal candidate will work to improve operational and manufacturing efficiency, implement lean principles and best practices for executing Companies Operations Improvement strategy. You will also be responsible for meeting business commitments and driving value stream success.


Responsibilities:

  • Closely monitors the production schedule & aligns the priorities of the Pre-Staging team
  • Establishes & reliably maintains a 2-wk buffer of 100% complete pre-staged kits
  • Develops & implements effective & efficient processes for cleaning, preparing, pre-staging & marshalling including the creation of Control Plans
  • Organizes materials in the pre-staging area by project kitting group & operation number to allow for visual management & verification of items
  • Deliver on business objectives for cost, quality, throughput, speed, schedule attainment and waste elimination
  • Designs & implements KPIs & metrics to monitor the health of processes & the effectiveness of the team
  • Resolves or escalates issues that are preventing the Pre-Staging team from meeting their objectives (issues relating to part availability, data quality, part quality, etc.)
  • Ensures non-conforming material is segregated, identified & has an appropriate action plan developed by the Quality Control team
  • Promote company goals and build a culture of problem solving and ownership for team members
  • Execute on the 1–2-year strategy, tracking progress to milestones to drive execution within the business
  • Monitor monthly spend to ensure alignment with financial targets
  • Manage capacity and determine resource allocation requirements to ensure projects are completed in accordance with scheduled priority
  • Build an environment of trust and empowerment with team members and promote team building
  • Lead, manage and develop team members to deliver their best service to their internal and external customers
  • Appraise team member performance fairly and accurately
  • Maintain and build upon world class housekeeping standards
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to develop standardized processes and consistent throughput results
  • Demonstrate due diligence and ensure a safe work environment for all team members

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education related to a mechanical or electrical field
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience with 2-3 years of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement experience
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (Lean, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement_ required
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Computer proficiency & ERP system experience required
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience would be an asset
  • Leadership experience or previous project management experience is an asset
  • Experience with LOTO, confined space and other OSHA requirements would be an asset
  • Has well-developed scheduling & organization skills
  • Has strong working knowledge of the various ERP sessions used to manage Materials functions
  • Has strong knowledge of inventory control processes
  • Has good computer literacy in spreadsheet & word processing applications
  • Is a strong problem-solver & has good facilitation skills
  • Possesses solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation
