Title: Regulatory Operations - Test Engineer

Location: Markham, ON



Job Profile Summary:

The Regulatory Operations Test Engineer ensures software and systems comply with insurance industry standards (GISA, Facility Association, GAA) through rigorous testing. Responsibilities include developing and executing test plans, maintaining records, and collaborating with regulatory bodies.

Key Skills:

  • Develop and execute detailed test plans specific to insurance regulations.
  • Conduct compliance tests for data privacy, cybersecurity, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare detailed reports on test results and compliance status.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment.
  • Improve testing processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Train team members on compliance and testing procedures.
  • Proficient in Software Development Life Cycle and Software Testing Life Cycle.
  • Experience with manual and automated testing for Windows and web applications.
  • Skilled in creating test plans based on requirements.
  • Expertise in writing and reviewing test scripts.
  • Use Jira and Test Track for bug tracking.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in test strategy, planning, specification, estimation, execution, and coordination.
  • Capable of producing test completion reports and status reports.
  • Excels in end-to-end, system integration, regression, business functionality, and integration testing.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, time management, responsibility for deliverables, and issue escalation.

Qualifications:

  • Insurance Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with insurance regulations, particularly GISA, Facility Association, and GAA, with a deep understanding of policy lifecycle.
  • Experience: Previous experience in regulatory reporting, business analysis, underwriting, or related field within the insurance industry.
  • Testing Techniques/Skills: Oracle e-Business Suite, web testing, regression testing, functional testing, automation.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, IT, or related industry experience.
