About the Role:

Native speaker of Spanish. Required to be proficient in English and have a solid understanding of its grammar and syntax nuances as well. You would be required to ensure translations adheres as much as possible to the contents of the original language whilst maintaining good readability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consistently synchronize subtitles mainly in English, Spanish and Portuguese
• Ensure translated content is localized and relevant
• Maintain a high standard of translated content and ensure readability at all times
• Ensure syntax, spelling, punctuation, diacritical marks, and other orthographical conventions, as well as accurate lexical cohesion and phraseology
• Ensure that names, dates, facts, and details are consistent throughout all translated content (factual accuracy)
• Deliver subtitles within a reasonable timeline

Qualifications:

• Love watching films and strong familiarity with the film market & industry
• Good knowledge of subtitling softwares as well as Office Tools and social platforms, CAT Tools would be an asset
• Non-commercial writing experience is strongly recommended
• Show translation competence: Terminology, semantic accuracy, content and meaning, appropriate syntax, spelling, punctuation, diacritical marks, and other orthographical conventions, lexical cohesion and phraseology, formatting, target audience and purpose of the target language content
• Knowledge of new technologies and programming strategies is a great plus
• Cultural competence for Latin American audiences within the Film/TV industry is a great plus

Profile Characteristics:

• Proficient level in both languages EN-SP of expertise, other languages would be an asset (Required)
• University degree in Translation, Language and Literature, Philology, Text Edition and Correction, Copy Editor or similar areas (Required)
• No previous experience needed, 6 month-1 year
• Full-time availability and to work on site
