Job Summary


Reporting into the Human Resources Director, this position is responsible for supporting and performing all activities related to the payroll cycle for all employees with the payroll software provider. They are in charge of the accurate entry of payroll information and the proper sharing of information.


Nature and Scope of the Role

- Collect and send payroll-related information to the payroll provider

- Receive, analyze, and verify documents related to payroll preparation

- Process payroll and employee record modifications

- Monitor employee probation periods

- Prepare employment records and complete forms for employment insurance inquiries

- Send requested reports to accounts, HR, and the union

- Respond to questions and requests from employees, managers, and external organizations regarding personnel payroll data


Job Requirements

- Possess a college diploma or equivalent experience

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll department within a unionized manufacturing company

- General mastery of payroll-related rules and laws

- Level 1 certification issued by the Canadian Payroll Association is an asset

- Good knowledge of the MS Office suite (Excel, Word)

- Knowledge of ADP, Kronos, and SAP systems is an asset

- Proficiency in French and English
