We are recruiting for a newly created Internal Audit Manager role with our large CPG client. This dynamic position offers extensive exposure across the organization, involving advisory engagements and audits spanning financial, operational, commercial, and IT areas. This is a hybrid, permanent role based in Mississauga.


Role Overview

Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit, the Manager will lead internal audits, advisory initiatives, and compliance assessments, including NI 52-109 engagements. This role ensures the effectiveness of internal controls, supports performance optimization, and collaborates with management to identify opportunities for improvement.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Development

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Senior Auditors, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Support professional growth within the team by offering continuous feedback and development opportunities.

Business Partnership

  • Build trusted relationships with management, delivering actionable insights that enhance business strategies.
  • Offer expert operational risk advice to senior leaders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Advisory and Process Improvements

  • Lead projects that improve business processes, enhance efficiency, and address key risks.
  • Develop and execute advisory plans, analyzing results and presenting actionable recommendations.
  • Use industry best practices and data analytics to refine advisory processes and outcomes.

Internal Audit Execution

  • Manage and deliver a variety of internal audit engagements, ensuring proper scoping, staffing, and timely execution.
  • Oversee audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting, ensuring high-quality deliverables with balanced perspectives.
  • Actively participate in audits and operational assessments as needed, focusing on high-risk areas.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight

  • Lead operational effectiveness testing for internal controls over financial reporting and disclosure procedures (NI 52-109 compliance).
  • Coordinate testing activities across business units and develop quarterly reports for senior leadership.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline compliance activities.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Results-driven professional with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional project management abilities with a proactive, organized approach to work.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in audit, process review, or consulting (internal audit/consulting background preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; SAP knowledge is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (15-20%).
  • Qualifications: CPA designation is required; additional certifications (CIA, CISA, CFE, or MBA) are assets.
  • 5-8 years of experience in audit, assurance, or consulting, ideally including time at a Big 4 firm.
