Here's what to expect


Key Responsibilities


• Legal Document Production & Management: Draft pleadings, affidavits of service, motion records, and factums using Automated Civil Litigation (ACL)

• Court Liaison and Document Filing: Coordinate with court contacts and file documents through the Justice Services Online (JSO) portal

• Affidavit Coordination: Arrange for the commissioning of affidavits

• Email and Calendar Management: Maintain a bring forward system and prepare materials proactively

• Travel Coordination: Organize travel arrangements for conferences and manage related expenses

• Client File Management & Practice Activities

• Financial Management: Handle accounts, billing, and accounts receivable

• Marketing & Business Development Support

• General Administrative Support


Qualifications


• Over 3 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant in litigation, or a combination of education and experience

• Familiarity with litigation-specific documents

• Experience with scheduling hearings, examinations, and associated processes

• Knowledge of jurisdictional filings and procedures

• Proficiency with JSO, ACL, and CaseLines is advantageous

• Experience in class action lawsuits, investigations, and product liability is beneficial

• A Law Clerk/Paralegal Diploma is an asset

• Strong experience in calendar and legal practice management

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

• Ability to learn and use various software programs utilized by the firm

• Comfort in a continuous learning environment with ongoing formal and self-learning opportunities

• Solution-oriented with sound judgment for informed decision-making

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with discretion in handling confidential information

• Solid organizational and time management skills

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work

• Professional, responsive, friendly, and capable of building productive relationships
