This position participates in our Flexible Work Program, offering a hybrid work arrangement. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors, but not limited to education, training, years of experience and internal equity.


Summary

Reporting to the Executive VP, the Project Director is responsible for overall management of multiple project teams. This includes supporting the team with coordinating, and leading partners, supervising members of the project team, and overseeing all project implementations, financial and administrative oversight, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation of the projects. Ideally you have 10+ years of experience managing institutional projects with a spending size up to $100 million+, and experience with healthcare facilities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate and support all aspects of assigned projects including profitability, schedule adherence, customer expectations and subcontractors.
  • Manage all facets of projects in collaboration with the team, such as chairing meetings, project status communication, change orders, close-out, including archiving of documents, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work.
  • Once the project has been awarded, manage the client relationship to ensure great experience and client retention.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the project team to achieve the project and department deliverables.
  • Support securing new business by participating in proposals, presentations and providing business leads, and participating in tender closings when requested.
  • Provide preconstruction leadership to the project team, challenging them to deliver value-based design.
  • Provide oversight on the project goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, budgets, staffing requirements, responsibility matrix, work breakdown structure, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, public and internal team.
  • Maintain awareness of current marketplace trends to assist with developing effective bid strategies.
  • Work collaboratively on the team and in partnership with our clients, to ensure expectations are met.
  • Represent Scott Construction at company-sponsored, industry and community events.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Project Management experience working on institutional projects with a spend of at least $100 million+.
  • Experience directing and executive Healthcare projects.
  • 2+ years in a people manager role.
  • University or college diploma in a relevant construction/engineering program.
  • Excellent technology skills including MS Office, Scheduling & PM software with Procore considered an asset.
  • Experience in all forms of contracts and delivery methods.
  • Sound knowledge in the review and negotiation of contracts for construction projects.
  • Strong technical, business, financial and legal acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentations), including the ability to successfully translate technical information to non-technical individuals.
  • Exemplary leadership skills, including strong teambuilding capabilities.
  • Knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation, including quantity take off procedures sub-trade procurement, pricing and bid closing procedures.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and ability problem solve.
