FCC Construcción has been present in Canada for more than 25 years, involved in innovative subway infrastructure work, such as the Highway 407 stations and Northern Tunnels for the Toronto York Spadina Subway Line Expansion, as well as the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Fredericton Moncton Highway.
We are experiencing exponential growth in our presence in Canada. In 1998, it was awarded for the construction, operation, and maintenance project for the Fredericton-Moncton Highway. In 2011, it was awarded a section of the Toronto-York Spadina Subway extension, the first modern subway infrastructure project in the city. This project was completed in 2018.
FCC Construcción Canadá has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line, together with the GO Rail Expansion-On Corridor Project and the Scarborough Subway Extension Stations, Rail and Systems Project reinforces FCC Construcción’s presence in the Canadian market.
Project Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Permits, Licenses, and Approvals Coordinator to join our FCC Canada team assigned to the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations Project.
Reports to: System Director
The Test and Commissioning Manager is responsible for providing technical and managerial leadership in the Testing & Commissioning of the projects by ensuring there are adequate competent resources to meet the forecast project demands for your area of responsibility.
The Test and Commissioning Manager’s key responsibilities are:
- Prepares and executes testing activities for technologies of subway signaling under the direction of his/her hierarchy and in conformance with the client policies and standards.
- Develops and Reviews T&C procedures for the various signaling sub-systems and against contractual requirements.
- Executes specific Testing activities according to the testing procedure/documentation and Sub-System Team Leader.
- Adheres to Testing schedules and Testing plans for internal and external customers.
- Performs activities with quality while meeting customer expectations and project schedule.
- Capture all test results clearly and accurately and prepare technical test reports for customer submission.
- interact with Engineering and V&V Sub-System leaders for optimizing site tests and investigation of testing issues.
- Supervises the Use of the correct tools and equipment to perform the electrical and mechanical test activities.
- Ensures the equipment and tools in the project are calibrated and easily tracked.
- Uses and adheres to the use of PPE as defined by the EHS plan and customer requirements.
- Alerts the hierarchical superiors of any risk identified during the testing activities, and alerts management (Sub-System Leader, PrCOM, PM, RC TCM, …) if any EHS risk is identified.
- Read, understand and create Test Plans, Procedures and test reports in coordination with T&C Coordinators and Discipline leaders.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology (electrical/computer/computer science).
- At least 5 years working in the rail signaling industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, and Word).
- At least 3 years of hands-on testing experience with signaling systems and/or complexity as a functional tester in a similar role.
- Proactive and efficient in promptly solving technical issues and anticipating all technical difficulties.
- Team player and customer oriented with emphasis on getting the job done.
- Adheres to all applicable regulations, customer rules, and professional standards (including EHS)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Experienced in writing/checking technical reports and communicating at Technical & Managerial Team levels.
- Knowledge of MEP, TVS, FLS, BACS in relation with Metro systems is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting engineering drawings (i.e., Book of Plans, Schematics, Single line diagrams).
- Familiarity with the use of standard Testing Tools (Multimeter, Laser Measure, , etc.)
- Experience with projects and customers under Transport Canada and Canadian Transportation Agency
- Experience in managing the T&C phase of Railway projects ().
- Have knowledge of Metrolinx Operating Rules and previous experience with them.
- Experience implementing processes and procedures.
