As the Delivery Manager at Superior Propane, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the scheduling and dispatching of our drivers, ensuring safe and efficient operations. You will lead and develop a dedicated team, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Your expertise will help us achieve our key performance indicators while continuously improving our processes and procedures.

What you'll do:

  • Collaboration & Strategic Improvement: Partner with the National Logistics Management team, regional managers, and field staff to gather feedback and implement strategic enhancements in delivery and logistics. Your efforts will drive customer satisfaction and optimize the overall experience with Superior Propane.
  • Best Practices Development: Work closely with fellow Delivery Managers to identify, develop, and implement industry best practices. Ensure that standardized processes are consistently applied and enforced across the team.
  • Performance Monitoring: Evaluate team and individual performance against key performance indicators such as "Out of Gas" incidents, resource utilization, and overtime management. Your insights will help maintain our high customer service standards.
  • Technology Utilization: Champion the use of technology to optimize delivery routes and schedules, ensuring that customer needs are met while adhering to safety standards.
  • Team Coaching & Development: Mentor and support your team in achieving their goals through the enforcement of standardized procedures. Promote effective work methods and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Safety Promotion: Ensure that safety remains a top priority in all delivery and service aspects. Oversee training initiatives to support safe dispatch and delivery operations.
  • Issue Resolution: Act as a point of escalation for Delivery Coordinators and Planning Specialists. Collaborate with the team to proactively troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges.
  • Operational Liaison: Maintain strong communication with Market Managers and Field Operations Managers to gather insights on daily operations, routing, and staffing needs.

What you bring:

  • Five (5) years of people leadership experience preferably in distribution, logistics or customer service.
  • Completion of post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to balance regional and national objectives effectively.
  • Proven team management experience, with the ability to mentor and motivate a high-performance workforce.
  • Conflict resolution skills and proven ability to navigate challenging situations.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet peak demand pressures.
  • Understanding of safety procedures, regulations, and emergency response protocols.
  • Above-average analytical skills, including logistics planning, budget management, and general financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and support for change initiatives.
  • Superior organization and time management abilities, thriving under pressure and adjusting to shifting priorities.
