Title - IT Support Specialist

Location -Richmond, BC

Hours - 1 1 AM - 7:30 PM

Pay Rate - $25 -$27/hr.

Workplace Type - Onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Direct, manage, and supervise the organization's computer systems and network environment to optimize overall network performance and supporting systems.
  • Provide end-user support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Plan, execute, and maintain the installation and configuration of PC and server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating systems.
  • Maintain system efficiency and stability, ensuring the security and integrity of all data, while responding to outages and other technical issues.
  • Oversee all aspects of system and network administration, including routers, firewalls, servers, computers, hardware/software, and data recovery and backup processes.
  • Manage application administration tasks such as creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, optimizing remote access, and managing security access for messaging systems, databases, and web applications.
  • Collaborate with other departments to assess and prioritize systems/network needs, making necessary upgrades as required.
  • Oversee the development, testing, evaluation, and installation of system enhancements.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • A Diploma/Degree in Computer Networking or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of relevant functional experience.
  • Proficiency in managing IT tickets or using ticketing systems, showcasing effective issue resolution and task prioritization skills.
  • Entry-level individual contributor with experience on project or work teams.
  • Work is closely supervised, and problems encountered are generally not complex.
  • Ability to explain facts, policies, and practices related to the job area.
  • Involvement in projects of limited scope and complexity.
  • Adherence to standard practices and procedures when analyzing situations or data to find solutions.
  • Utilization of company policies and procedures to resolve straightforward issues.
  • Regular review of work by supervisors or more senior colleagues.
