THE ROLE
The Yard Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating loading and unloading activities with shipping, receiving, and forklift operators along with setting up safety exclusion zones and spotting forklift operators when crossing the road. This person will be responsible for assisting the Yard Supervisor with completing outbound and inbound inspections, assisting with chocking reels in the yard, maintaining yard cleanliness/organization, and undertaking other assigned duties as required by the Yard Supervisor. Strong multi-tasking skills and excellent attention to detail are qualities integral in this position. The ability to provide insight into policies and procedures along with dedication to safety, quality and success are important for the continuous improvement of the Supply Chain Department and Flexpipe.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinating loading and unloading activities with shipping, receiving, and forklift operators along with setting up safety exclusion zones and spotting forklift operator when crossing the road
- Assisting the Yard Supervisor with completing outbound and inbound inspections
- Assisting with chocking reels, maintaining yard cleanliness and organization
- Undertaking other assigned duties as required by the Traffic Team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills including an understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to learn how to operate necessary tools and equipment, including forklift and related machinery.
- Proven team player with a strong work ethic, and a high sense of values, principles, and integrity.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
