Maintenance Planner

BASIC FUNCTION
We have an exciting new opportunity at our Blackrod Operations, the Maintenance Planner will work closely with the on-site leadership team and is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the site by accurately and pro-actively planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance related programs and resources.
PRINCIPAL ROLES & REPONSIBILITIES
- Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of IPC's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Must ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and resource requirements for maintenance activities, shutdowns, and projects.
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to identify work scope, estimate resources, and prioritize activities based on criticality and risk.
- Follow (SOP) standard operating procedures, including reviews and improvements to existing (SOP’s). Develop (SOP’s) if required and participate in scheduled audits.
- Utilize planning and scheduling tools, such as the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), to manage work orders, schedule tasks, and track progress.
- Procurement - This involves sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for the maintenance of the facility.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to planning and scheduling performance, analyzing trends, and implementing corrective actions to optimize planning processes and improve efficiency.
- Prepare job plans to include the logical sequencing of associated tasks, considering multi-craft alignment.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services required for planned activities, minimizing delays and disruptions to operations.
- Maintain and continuously improve job plans and task lists, through analysis of previous work order history, soliciting planning feedback, performing workplace observations, and field walk downs.
- Ensure compliance to all our relevant policies and standards including the management of change (MOC) process and maintenance business processes and provide input into the development of procedures and standards.
- Be a key member in the integrated maintenance team, working together with engineering, and operations.
- Conduct regular meetings and reviews with stakeholders to communicate plans, address issues, and solicit feedback to improve planning accuracy and effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
- Develop and maintain long-term and short-term maintenance and turnaround plans for the facility, aligning with business objectives and operational priorities.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Journeyman/red seal certification in a related trade.
- 10 years’ experience in a senior maintenance position, preferably in a SAGD operations or within an Exploration and Production energy company.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to demonstrate a clean driving record.
- Comfortable using CMMS systems and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with and understanding of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
75% of this role will be computer facing.
25% will be on the ground around the facility.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The remote location of the facility requires camp based accommodations working a 10x10 rotating schedule, 12-hours per shift (including weekends and holidays). The facility is located approximately 35km North/West of Wandering River, AB. and 240kms NE of Edmonton, AB.
