Our client is a growing Corporate Finance team that plays a critical role in designing the optimal balance sheet and managing their capital markets and corporate finance functions that are critical to supporting both organic and inorganic growth strategies over the next decade. The company is a market leader in real estate, consumer products, grocery and healthcare; industries that are generally very stable through the economic cycle. They also have a track record of offering exceptional career development opportunities in its entities.
Here are details surrounding the key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and execute on capital allocation strategies and act as an internal consultant on financing initiatives for our operating businesses
- Assess capital projects and determine financing strategies for various operating businesses and growth initiatives, including new acquisitions and M&A
- Develop strategic financing plans and execute on capital raising activities including debt, equity, and preferred share issuances
- Recommend and execute shareholder return programs (share buybacks and dividend strategy)
- Interact effectively with internal business managers and develop strong relationships with external advisors, specifically our banking partners
- Assist in the development and forecasting of our financial plan and corporate strategy, working closely with the Corporate Development and Strategy team
To quality for the Director, Capital Markets & Corporate Finance opportunity, we seek the following:
- Minimum 8-14 years of experience in Investment Banking, Leverage Finance, Corporate Banking, or Corporate Development
- University degree(s) and CFA or other finance designation
- Strong corporate finance knowledge and experience in complex strategic, valuation and financial modeling
- Creative problem solving and strong analytical capabilities to address unstructured and complex business strategy questions
- Experience leading management or client meetings with a clear, concise, and compelling communication style. An ability to connect the dots and explain issues to ultimately influence strategic decisions
- Leadership experience coaching and managing teams and having direct reports
- Experience working with public companies is helpful but not required
