Our partner is seeking a Project Manager, Linear Infrastructure to join their Water/Wastewater Linear Infrastructure Team. The location for this role is negotiable but will be based in one of their Ontario locations.The primary focus of this position will be overseeing and providing direction for the design, approval and construction administration of municipal linear infrastructure (i.e., watermains, sanitary sewers and forcemains).This is both a client-facing and technical role for an individual who is motivated to provide excellent client service and has 'attention to detail' and a knack for coordinating and overseeing the completion of detailed designs, accompanying reports and tender packages.As Project Manager, strong communication and people skills are critical, as is the ability to effectively manage resources and project budgets.This growing team has several ongoing and upcoming linear infrastructure projects involving not only local watermain and sewer replacements but also large-diameter and trenchless projects throughout Southern Ontario. The successful candidate will play a key role in continuing to build upon our team's very strong positioning as a trusted 'go-to' engineering consultant in this space.Role SpecificsReporting to a Senior Vice President, Public Sector, the position will involve carrying out the following tasks:Project and client management responsibility for a variety of linear infrastructure projects.Assisting in the planning, study, design, approval and construction administration of linear infrastructure projects for local servicing, transmission, collection and/or conveyance infrastructure utilizing a variety of construction methods (i.e. open-cut, trenchless);Working closely with design teams and supporting/directing other engineers and technicians in the production of preliminary and detailed design drawings and preparation of related reports, coordination of approvals, development of construction cost estimates, and liaising with clients, sub-consultants and contractors.Supporting construction inspectors in the field and contract administrators in the office in dealing with and adapting to unexpected challenges encountered during construction.Working under the guidance management staff across the company to further develop project management and technical skills.Collaborating with and contributing to project teams (sometimes across other offices) to ensure successful project delivery meeting the client's needs.Involved with the preparation of proposals, project reports, design documents, and permit applications.Mentoring and assisting in the development of engineering students, engineers-in-training and junior project engineers/technologists.Other duties as assigned.The following qualifications, experience and skills are required:An engineering degree in a related discipline.Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.A minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience with municipal linear infrastructure design, project management, contract administration and client relationships.Knowledge of municipal and provincial approval processes and relevant agency and industry standards, guidelines and best practices.Strong communication, written and analytical skills.Excellent organization and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and work on a number of projects concurrently.
