Operating two manufacturing facilities totaling 200,000 sq. ft. of insulated and heated workspace, the MODUS team works to design, manufacture, and deliver building projects faster than traditional site-built methods.Role DescriptionReporting to the VP Financial and Administration, the Data Systems Manager is a senior-level leader responsible for the strategic management, optimization, and governance of all enterprise data systems at MODUS. This role provides leadership in data architecture, system integration, reporting and analytics, and technology enablement across the organization.The Data Systems Manager oversees IT Support and Data Systems personnel, ensuring MODUS has reliable, scalable, and secure data systems to support manufacturing, finance, procurement, HR, design and project operations. As a senior manager, this role partners closely with executive leadership to align system capabilities with business needs, process improvement goals, and long-term digital transformation initiatives.Responsibilities:Leadership & StrategyDevelop and execute the data systems roadmap aligned with MODUS' strategic objectives.Establish standards for system architecture, data structures, reporting, integrations, and cybersecurity alignment.Collaborate with department leaders to define technology requirements and ensure alignment with operational priorities.Lead system evaluations, RFP processes, vendor negotiations, and implementation planning.Present data-driven insights, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.System Administration & OptimizationOversee administration of ERP, CRM, HRIS, production, and financial data systems.Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all connected systems.Optimize workflows, automation, and integrations to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.Develop policies for system usage, change management, and data governance.Lead testing, rollout, and documentation for system changes and upgrades.Reporting, Analytics & Business IntelligenceDrive development of dashboards, reporting tools, and analytics that support operational and strategic decision-making.Establish standard reporting frameworks and KPIs across departments.Support financial forecasting, operational reporting, and production analytics.Ensure data availability, reliability, and usability across the organization.Team Leadership & Cross-Functional CollaborationLead and develop a high-performing Data Systems team.Collaborate with Operations, Finance, HR, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Projects teams to support business system needs.Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and problem-solving support to team members.Coordinate system training for end users and departmental "super users."Cybersecurity, Access & ComplianceEnsure compliance with IT security standards, permissions management, and audit requirements.Maintain secure protocols for data storage, backup, and disaster recovery.Partner with external IT providers to manage security risks and system vulnerabilities.Maintain documentation related to system access, controls, and cybersecurity practices.Continuous Improvement & InnovationIdentify opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and automate routine tasks.Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to data systems, integrations, and workflows.Research emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance operational capabilities.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Technology, Engineering, or related field.7-10 years of progressive experience in information systems, enterprise data management, or system administration.Minimum 3-5 years in a leadership or senior management role overseeing system or data teams.Strong knowledge of ERP systems, data architecture, integrations, and workflow automation.Experience supporting manufacturing or construction operations preferred.Advanced proficiency in reporting, analytics, BI dashboards, and SQL or equivalent querying tools.Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, lead projects, and drive continuous improvement.Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and presentation skills.Ability to work with high levels of integrity, tact, and professionalism across all levels of the organization.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceComprehensive health and benefits planRRSP contribution matching programWhy Join Modus?Join a team that is transforming the construction industry through innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to Building Better.
