Companys address and job location: 555 Burrard Street, suite 600, Vancouver, BC V7X 1M8 What we offer: Full-time position as a Financial Underwriter (40 hours per week); Salary: $77,000 annually (approximately $37.02 per hour); Extended health benefits, dental and vison coverage. What Youll Be Doing: As a Financial Underwriter, youll play a key role in assessing loan applications, evaluating risk, and ensuring compliance with lending policies and regulations. Job responsibilities: - Review, assess, and approve loan applications across multiple product lines. - Conduct financial and credit analyses to evaluate applicants creditworthiness and repayment capacity. - Ensure compliance with company policies, lending regulations, and underwriting standards. - Verify documentation and references to expedite loan approvals. - Prepare and issue loan documentation, contracts, and approval reports. - Identify discrepancies or incomplete information and recommend appropriate corrective action. - Participate in quality-control audits and contribute to improving underwriting standards and efficiency. - Monitor and report on trends, recurring issues, and training needs to the Department Manager. - Collaborate with Sales, Funding, and QA teams to resolve escalated or complex cases. Requirements: - Experience: 1-3 years in credit analysis, underwriting, or loan processing (preferably in consumer or fintech lending); - Education: Diploma or degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field; - Strong understanding of credit principles, financial ratios, and lending-compliance standards; - Proficiency in CRM and lending systems; advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills preferred; - Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
