The Veterans Care Program at Parkwood Hospital, London, provides Veterans of Canada with a broad range of services to optimize health and quality of life.

You will be part of a comprehensive and dynamic interdisciplinary health care team that provides services within a holistic framework to ensure that care is resident focused.

You will be responsible for providing speech and language pathology services for residents in the Veterans Care Program.


As a valued member of the interdisciplinary team the Speech Language Pathologist provides assessment and rehabilitation services, to individuals within the Veterans Care Program, with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities include consultation and education to patients, families, students, team members and the community.

The successful candidate will work with geriatric residents of the Veterans Care Program to provide care that will assist and support them, meeting their evident and anticipated needs, to promote health and to enhance well-being and quality of life.

Essential Qualifications

Valid registration with the College of Audiologists & Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario
Experience with clinical and video-fluoroscopic assessment of swallowing
Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative manner with an interdisciplinary team
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong teaching and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in French would be an asset
Previous experience with geriatric communication and swallowing disorders
Eligibility for membership in CASLPA and/or OSLA

Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital.

As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements

Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.

Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
