The Director, Cyber Risk, Compliance and Reporting is a seasoned professional responsible for fulfilling CIBC's second line of defense in the management of cyber security risk and compliance activities across the organization.
The role works closely with the first line of defense, internal and external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure that the cyber security policies, standards, and controls are aligned with the global regulatory frameworks and best practices.
The role will also be involved in cyber security incident management and reporting, policy updates, and quarterly risk monitoring and reporting to senior committees and the board.

- Technical expertise
- Brings instant credibility by skillfully leveraging strong breadth of cybersecurity experience and depth of knowledge in key technology, cyber and data domains, including strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks, standards, regulations (B13) and best practices such as NIST, ISO, COBIT, etc. Industry recognized cyber security certifications are preferred such as CISM, CISSP etc.
Advisory
- Maintains an industry view of the broad cyber security landscape, understand best practice and performance benchmarks and monitor emerging cyber security trends and regulations. Provides guidance on the management of cyber risk when consulted, including risk mitigation strategies.
- Performs regulatory compliance Oversight Function (OF) accountabilities, monitoring the regulatory landscape for changes in legislation and regulatory guidance pertaining to federally regulated financial institutions and ensure assessment, communication and documentation of CIBC's compliance is completed, in alignment with CIBC's Regulatory Compliance Management policy. This role will also interface with CIBC's subsidiaries on policy matters and oversight.
