Job description


The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for providing good customer service, answering phones, and performing general office duties like order entry, filing, and database entry.

They are also responsible for shipping and receiving small to medium parcels, checing for damages, verifying bills of lading, packaging goods, and keeping inventory records.


Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include:

Handle incoming and outgoing customer telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner.


Coordinate the prompt handling of customer service requests including, but not limited to, order entry, pricing, expediting, billing, order maintenance, credit and claims.

Determine how to ship, and create bills, invoices, and other shipping documentation.

Distribute and arrange the delivery of products.

Contact with suppliers and shipping businesses to expedite, track, or return goods that don't meet requirements or purchase orders.

Pack items for shipping, and create shipping instructions and identifying information for the goods.

Core Competencies

Demonstrated enthusiasm and self-motivation

Must be able to work independently or as part of a team as required

Detail oriented and problem-solving aptitude.
