Human Resource Responsibilities:

  • Following up with staff to provide coaching and guidance regarding policy infractions.
  • Initial assessment/investigation of Incident Reports.
  • Working together with management and employees to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive employee relations and maintain a good working environment.
  • Acting as a resource to management and staff in matters of general HR inquiries as well as in the interpretation of Human Resources policies, the collective bargain agreement, and applicable employment legislation.
  • Conducting workplace investigations.
  • Leading the conduction of disciplinary meetings.
  • Following up with staff to ensure all background checks and licenses meet the required standards.
  • Responding to employee inquiries related to company policies.
  • Handling confidential information and personnel files
  • Facilitating conflict resolution as required.

Qualifications:

  • Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Human Resource Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in Human Resources (required).
  • Previous experience with labor relations.
  • Experience working in Human Resources role in a unionized environment. (preferred)
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and diffuse difficult situations.
  • Ability to manage fluctuating workload coupled with the ability to multitask.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to fluently speak and type in English.
  • Have a keen attention to detail.
  • Attached resume with cover letter.
  • 2 professional references from your most recent two employers.
