We are looking for an Actuarial Assistant who will be working in our Corporate Actuarial Department supporting all aspects of actuarial reporting, including IFRS 17, quarterly valuation of actuarial liabilities, capital reporting, drivers of earnings/core earnings, business forecasts, experience studies, sensitivity / shock testing, and financial condition testing.


You will:

  • Contribute to developing and maintaining comprehensive and reliable actuarial models
  • Ensure clear and concise communication to team and manager
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for financial and capital reporting
  • Become thoroughly familiar with AXIS, Excel, and other relevant tools
  • Become thoroughly familiar with the IFRS 17 accounting and LICAT capital processes
  • Provide insight to assist with streamlining the valuation and capital infrastructure

What we are looking for

  • University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area
  • Progressing towards attainment of Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
  • Experience in insurance and actuarial work would be an asset
  • Excellent quantitative and data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of Excel and AXIS are required
  • Good written and verbal business communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively to deliver on organizational goals
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while multitasking
