Are you a recognized, results-oriented leader? Nexar Projects Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Superintendent to join our team on project in Alberta. This position is responsible for the successful management and execution of the Project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage field operations to achieve timely and profitable completion of the project
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all staff, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations
  • Direct and instruct the assistant superintendents in the execution of project activities
  • Provide advice and instruction to the project team around the execution of the project
  • Actively manage relationships with the Client through consistent communication around project progress
  • Monitor, manage and deploy resources as per the construction schedule
  • Guide and set the tone for accountability for safety, quality, compliance, and environmental programs
  • Identify and respond to environmental incidents or concerns
  • Determine and respond to safety incidents or concerns
  • Oversee the project, ensuring jobsite goals and objectives are met
  • Negotiate wages as it pertains to the project execution
  • Review field reporting, ensuring that it is accurate and represents status of the project
  • Diagnose and evaluate efficiencies in the execution of the project
  • Communicate with and coordinate field issues and scheduling of progress with Project Managers
  • Ensure all assistant superintendents complete and submit required reports
  • Analyze the results of quality audits performed throughout the project
  • Review and enforce subtrade contracts and identify discrepancies in scopes of work
  • Advise team of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties while assisting in resolving conflicts
  • Demonstrate and communicate the Company values, vision and safe behaviour
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned. These duties may fall out of the scope as described to support the business in whatever capacity deemed required.
  • Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • PCST certification required
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification required
  • Project positions are considered safetysensitive and are required to complete preemployment drug and alcohol testing and must be in compliance with Company requirements
Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of construction experience in a Superintendent position
  • Skills and Knowledge
  • Exceptional understanding of fullcycle pipeline construction processes, including a strong technical, organizational, and commercial understanding
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and processes as it relates to project work
  • Strong ability to direct and lead a team to ensure objectives are met
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook PowerPoint
  • Superior communication skills: written and verbal skills, organization abilities and proven attention to detail and ability to develop good working relationships within and outside of the organization
  • High degree of initiative with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Outstanding time management skills with ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Ability to work and adapt in a growing, dynamic and changing environment
  • Capable of managing multiple competing projects and prioritize appropriately
  • Optimistic/collaborative approach and attitude towards work
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues/risks with skills to make recommendations based on relevant experience
Working Conditions

Positions are field based and often work in remote work locations

Travel and/or living in temporary accommodations may be required
