PROFILE


This position will manage all aspects of the partner administration process including updating processes and policies related to partner draws, distributions, capital contributions etc.

They will also manage the monthly draws, quarterly distributions and lead the day-to-day operations of a team through management of priorities and review and oversight of their work.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee preparation of partner draws/distributions on a monthly basis and coordinate payments to partners with the Payroll team.
  • Assist with holdback of draws and distributions related to docketing and AAI sanctions.
  • Reconcile partner's equity on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile hourly partner payments on a monthly/quarterly basis, as required.
  • Prepare annual bonus calculations for Income Partners, Counsel, Principals and Contract professionals, as required.
  • Review capital contributions annually and periodic distributions of income to equity partners.
  • Prepare departing lawyer draw and distribution calculations.
  • Respond to all partners queries and requests for analysis.
  • Review current policy and processes, identify gaps and opportunities and implement desired solutions.
  • Assist with draw and distribution planning as required.
  • Ensure all processes within the Partner Admin team are aligned to the Firm's financial controls operating effectively in compliance with ASPE, CRA, and Law Societies ruls and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Partner Administration team.
  • Participate in and/or identify projects as necessary to support the business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree; professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CFA).
  • 7+ years of progressive and relevant experience in finance roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Demonstrates a solutionsoriented approach, challenges status quo, and strives to improve processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other Firm members and provide outstanding client service.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing tasks/priorities in order to meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
