Support Worker for Individual with Complex Needs

Location:
North Edmonton

Job Description:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in North Edmonton.

In this role, you will be working with a young man with complex needs who enjoys watching movies and going for coffee.

The key responsibilities include connecting with and developing helping relationships with individuals with disabilities, advocating for community integration, collaborating with the individual and their support team to achieve personal goals, program creation and evaluation, overseeing case management, documentation, participating in recreational activities, and more.


Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in supporting individuals with disabilities
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience with Nonviolent Crisis Intervention preferred
  • Previous work in a residential setting is an asset

Requirements:

  • Security Clearance Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last six months)
  • Children Services Intervention Record Check (within the last six months)
  • Standard First Aid with CPR certification
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and driver's abstract (within the previous six months)
  • Auto Insurance with $2 million thirdparty liability coverage
  • Strong English language skills
